LCR Apprenticeship Graduation

The Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Graduation 2019

Over 300 people attended St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Thursday 7 March to celebrate the achievements and success of Liverpool City Region residents who have graduated from their apprenticeships.

Graduates from various age groups and industries came together to celebrate their success and receive the same recognition that university students experience upon completion of a degree. A range of colleges, training providers and employers including Sefton Council, St Helen’s Chamber, Merseyside Fire and Rescue, First Ark and Andrew Collinge also supported and attended the event to celebrate their apprentices for their passion, hard work and effort.

Thomas has successfully followed in his grandfather’s footsteps by completing a Level 4 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship with employer Denholms and C E Edwards and training provider North West Training Council. Thomas is now a Production Engineer, he comments:

‘I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone, it has been a great experience and I’m very pleased to be here today to celebrate my achievement.’

Jack Parker, 21 from St Helens has recently completed his second apprenticeship at St Helens Chamber of Commerce, this time a Level 3 Business Administration qualification. Jack added:

“I’ve never been to anywhere as nice as St George’s Hall so it’s really impressive to see the venue. It’s great to come along to a formal ceremony like this as we’ve all worked hard throughout the whole apprenticeship so why not take the opportunity to celebrate it?”

‘I would definitely recommened an apprenticeship. It is a great alternative to university and you are guaranteed a job at the end in most cases.’

Employees from Asset Training all celebrated the completion of their business and management apprenticeships, which they have undertaken whilst working at Asset Training, a specialist apprenticeship training provider based in Liverpool. They commented:

‘We thought it was important to practice what we preach by completing an apprenticeship, which in turn will help us encourage other people to complete an apprenticeship whilst working at the same time’.

There is no upper age limit to completing an apprenticeship and it was great to see so many graduates from different age groups demonstrating this and celebrating the completion of immediate, advanced and higher-level apprenticeships.
